Hi there, I’m Morgan! I’m from Clogherhead, Co. Louth. I have just completed the Bachelor of Education programme at Dublin City University. My specialism subject was Science Education and I’m now in the process of applying for a teaching position.
I applied for the STInt programme because of the potential to grow my skill set in teaching, promoting and fostering a culture of science, technology, engineering and mathematics in the primary classroom. The programme offers an invaluable opportunity for teachers to work with STEM industry leaders to acquire first-hand, direct experience, build a professional network and learn new skills. Ultimately, my goal is to take these experiences and skills back to the classroom to inspire future generations to pursue STEM related careers.
I’m delighted to have accepted a role at Vodafone for summer 2021. Vodafone are Ireland’s leading mobile communications operator with 2.4 million customers and are present across five continents. My internship will most likely be done remotely but may move to a hybrid style of working later in the summer – I’d love to go on site and see what it’s like.
I’ve spoken to a member of the team already where I was advised that my role should provide an in-depth view as to how a Tech-co delivers to market including an understanding as to the complexity involved. I will learn about Business Strategy and how an organisation priorities its resources, as well as some of the software development tools that are employed.
