My name is Maire Claire Doherty. I am a second year studying my Professional Masters in Education in Dublin City University. My Subject Specialism is Maths. I enjoy strength training and I play the piano. By taking part in the STInt programme I hope to develop my communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills to be able to apply them in the Maths classroom.

I am applying to the STEM Teacher Internship Programme as I am very interested in seeing how much I can grow as a person and a teacher by participating. I believe that by spending a summer working with others in a role outside of teaching I can practice and develop my communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills in a different environment and I can learn new skills which I can take into the classroom to help my teaching.
