Tell us about yourself

Hi, I am Clodagh Murray and I am from Dublin, Ireland. I have just finished my third year of studying Primary School Teaching in Dublin City University (DCU). At university, I specialise in Digital Learning and I have a passion for developing people and seeing them achieve their potential. I enjoy cooking, running and rugby. I am actively involved in rugby and as part of my ambition to get more female participation in the game, I now coach an U12 Girls’ rugby team in St. Mary’s College Rugby Club, which is my local rugby club.

Why did you apply for the STInt Programme?

I applied for this internship for many reasons. Firstly, I enjoy the opportunity and challenge of innovation as I strongly believe that STEM is a driver for social and economic progress. I believe that this STEM Internship can provide an opportunity to become an advocate for STEM subjects in schools. As a Digital Learning Specialism student in DCU, I have a keen interest in technology and the benefits associated with it within the classroom to support and promote learning for the 21st century child.

Where are you doing your ‘STInt’ in industry?

I am really excited to have accepted a role at Microsoft this summer as Program Manager Intern. Microsoft is a multinational technology company whose Irish campus is based in Leopardstown, Co. Dublin. Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person across the world through the power of technology. During my internship, I hope that I can further my insight into the new ideas that technology can provide us as teachers. I hope to develop both personally and professionally in Microsoft I am looking forward to the challenges and opportunities that this role presents me with.
