Hi there, I’m Grace! I’m from County Limerick. I graduated from University College Dublin in 2020 with a BSc in Mathematics, Biology and Education. I am currently finishing my MSc in Mathematics, Biology and Education. My specialism subjects are Mathematics, Biology and Science.
I applied for the STInt Programme because it offers the experience of an internship designed specifically for student teachers. It will provide me with an opportunity to learn about what STEM companies do and the skills needed to work in such a company. This is knowledge I can bring to my teaching, enhancing students’ knowledge of STEM and hopefully enabling students to see themselves in these positions. In turn, the knowledge and skills I will gain from this internship will ensure students are informed about and connected with the STEM industry.
I’m delighted to have accepted a role at AIB for summer 2021. I will be taking on the role of Service Operate intern in the Technology and Talent team. My internship will most likely be done remotely enabling me to work from home. I am really looking forward to starting my internship and seeing first hand what STEM roles involve.
