My name is Doireann O’Brien. I am a Science Education student in Maynooth University. My interests include playing trad music, reading and nature. I hope to gain new experiences that will enrich and compliment my degree. And further enhance my teaching ability and my aspiration to encourage students to pursue STEM during school and beyond.

I am eager to gain experience within STEM companies, applying the knowledge from my studies so far, and broaden my work experience through the internship. I haven’t had the opportunity to experience STEM in the workplace. My aspiration when teaching is to give students a love for Science and Mathematics, not just in the classroom but through their everyday lives. I hope to bring the experiences learned from the STEM internship programme into the classroom.
