The GMC Utilities Group, comprising GMC Civil and Mechanical Engineering Ltd., Gerry McCloskey (Irl) Ltd., Gas Management Resources Limited and Meter Technology Ireland Ltd provide a complete service and turnkey solution to the utility and civil engineering industries. GMC carries out projects throughout Ireland and across the UK. The Group has constructed major projects such as the non-domestic water metering project for the greater Dublin area, water leak detection and management services, road and infrastructural projects, railway station platform extensions, water supply and sewerage schemes, gas network and distribution projects, water network and distribution and rehabilitation projects, electricity network enhancements, renewable energy projects and solutions, telecoms and broadband network projects. We provide water leak detection and management services to Local Authorities and commercial enterprises.

STInt Intern Role Description 

The STInt intern based at GMC should expect duties and responsibilities to include:

• Download all new project information from the projects share file system as it becomes available.
• Maintain the site drawing register as new information becomes available.
• Remove, stamp and file appropriately the superseded drawings as they are presented.
• Study design briefs and prepare proposed design packs from Concept to Detailed designs, with Input into Environmental, Archaeology and other associated aspects, as well as manage subcontracted and direct design resources.
• Ability to produce low level programmes that are in line with contract requirements, which can be developed by Planning/Programming Teams
• Good leadership skills and communication with multiple levels of staff, departments, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines, and work on initiative to deliver a packages within required timeframes.
• Update live drawings in office on drawing file stick and ensure most recent copies are always available.

The ideal STInt intern will have the following skills and competencies:

• Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Excellent communication, telephone manner, and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in english.
