Tell us about yourself
Hi, my name is Ross and I’m from County Mayo. I recently completed my Bachelors in Materials & Engineering Technology (Education) at the University of Limerick. My subject specialisms are Engineering and Design and Communication Graphics.
I applied to the STInt Programme because...

I wanted to gain some hands on experience in the STEM industry. This programme provides an excellent opportunity to gain new skills and also to find out what it is like to work in a fast paced STEM industry.

Tell us about your STInt in Industry

The team I was part of in ESB was the Innovation Opportunity Pipeline team in the Strategy, Innovation & Transformation business unit. Myself as well as one of my fellow STInt intern were tasked with reviewing and redesigning the current TY Programmes in ESB. Working on this project enabled us to learn so much about ESB. During my placement I was also lucky enough to be invited out to the ESB Networks training centre in Portlaoise to get a tour of the site, and I was also invited to test out the new ESB Ebikes in Dun Laoghaire. It was a great blend between working on an important project, and getting to experience the type of work that is done in ESB.

STInt host

ESB is Ireland’s foremost energy company. We have been supplying power to industry, communities and individuals for 90 years. Through innovation, expertise and investment, we are leading the way in developing smart and sustainable energy systems to meet the demands of modern life, both at home and overseas, making us a vital part of building a brighter, more sustainable future.

At ESB, we believe that electricity is an enabler of societal and economic well-being and that every citizen should have access to secure, sustainable and affordable electricity supplies.  We are harnessing all our resources for a brighter future, investing in our people and working collaboratively with partners to enhance the lives of our customers, drive economic progress and bring about a more sustainable future.

Navigating the pitfalls and complexities of these questions requires a measured combination of technical expertise  and management capability – this is where Deloitte’s Technology Consultants step in. We work alongside our clients  to help bridge the gap between their business needs and technology requirements, and ultimately deliver  technology solutions that meet their most pressing demands.
