Tell Us About Yourself
My name is Rachel Burke and I am currently in my final year of the Professional Masters of Education (PME) in University College Cork. My subject specialisms are Science and Biology. I completed a BSc Nutritional Sciences in University College Cork and worked in the food industry as a Research and Development Graduate for two years before undertaking the PME. With a desire to work with people and a keen interest in science, teaching has allowed me to combine both. Through participating in the STInt programme, I hope to further build upon my experience in industry, allowing me to bring such insights into the classroom. Partaking in this programme would enable me to provide students with first-hand experience of the STEM industry, encouraging students to follow a STEM-related pathway in their future careers. Outside of teaching I enjoy playing camogie and tag rugby, as well as reading and walking.
