Tell us about yourself

My name is Judi, and I’m currently completing my final year in Science Education at Dublin City University. My specialisms are Chemistry and Mathematics. I’m keen to put the processes and skills that I have learnt over the past 4 years into practice outside of the classroom setting, while learning more about the industry. I would also like to learn more about the roles available to students who study STEM subjects, so that I can better advise students about how what they learn in the classroom can be applied to their everyday life.

I applied to the STInt Programme because...

I am applying as I believe that it will allow me to further enhance and develop the skills I have learnt during my degree. I believe that the STEM Teacher Internship will allow me to become a better educator as I will learn first hand how the skills learnt in the classroom are applied in industry. I believe that this will aid me in advising students if they ask me for advice or are considering a career in STEM fields. I also believe that the STEM Teacher Internship will give me the opportunity to learn more about my chosen subjects and about their use in industry.
