Gemma Sheridan
Hi, I’m Gemma! I am studying for my Bachelor of Science in Science Education at Dublin City University. My specialisms are Chemistry, Mathematics and Science.
I think that the future of STEM relies on the next generation of students and I as a teacher have the responsibility to prepare my students for this. In order for me to do this I need to not only have the pedagogical skills and be scientifically literate but I also need to learn the skills that are required for a job associated with STEM industries.
Another reason I have applied is because I want to challenge myself. I have a great amount of confidence when I am in a classroom, teaching, but I want to challenge myself in other areas of my degree and hopefully develop some new skills along the way. I think this would increase my confidence as a working professional and could benefit how I teach and deliver lessons in the future.
