Bronagh Walsh
My name is Bronagh and I’m a Mathematics and Biology secondary school teacher. I have a BSc and MSc in Biology, Mathematics and Education from University College Dublin. I been teaching in a co-ed school in the south east of Ireland for the last four years. I have previously taught in Dublin schools also. In the past I worked as a manager of international summer camps in Dublin. I really enjoy my role as a teacher but equally enjoy managing projects and sites like I did in this position. As part of the STInt program I hope to get an insight into the world of STEM that exists outside of the classroom. I hope that I will gain beneficial experiences which I can bring to the classroom and share with my students.
I am applying for the internship as I think it would enhance the quality of teaching I can deliver in the classroom going forward. It is also an opportunity to get an insight into careers involving STEM and project management outside of the teaching profession. Though I really enjoy teaching I’ve always had a desire to try out other career options. In particular I want to experience roles involving working as a team to manage projects and possibly working with clients. I believe my STEM background will be of benefit to me if I was to work in a role similar to one described. I have an abundance of experience with data analyzing and organsiation.
