Backed by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI), CÚRAM is a world leading SFI research centre with expertise in medical device technology. With ten partner institutes and 32 industry partners, researchers at CÚRAM are designing the next generation of medical devices. CÚRAM’s aim is to improve the quality of life for people suffering from chronic illnesses like diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and Parkinson’s disease.
STEM Teacher Intern Role
This job will expose the intern to all facets of working in a scientific research centre. The job will require rotations in the laboratory to learn techniques such as cell culture, microscopy, and biomaterial characterisation. The intern will be part of the Education and Public Engagement team and be involved in projects such as our exhibits at the Galway City Museum and Galway Atlantaquaria, ‘Curious Young Minds’ summer camp, and developing lesson plans based on the centre’s research activities. During the internship, he/she will receive science communication/media training and be invited to the centre’s annual summit in June to hear world-renowned speakers present their research.
