My name is Stephen Timlin, and I am undertaking a Bachelor of Science with Education degree at Maynooth University. My subject specialisms are Mathematics and Biology. I am always interested in learning and experiencing new things, which is what I hope to gain from this programme.

I have had little exposure to jobs outside of education, as my mother is a teacher, so I really like the idea of getting experience that I can bring back to my students, and I think I ought to do it. My Junior Cycle Science teacher would sometimes tell us about the time she spent working for a producer of stents, and it’s just such a simple but effective way of letting students see the importance of what they learn.
