I have participated in the STEM Internship now for two consecutive years. It’s an experience that is totally out of my comfort zone and it has changed my perspective. It’s a great opportunity to explore different fields of work and to understand how the ‘world of work’ works outside of the classroom. Another huge benefit from this experience is adding to my career portfolio. It’s great to have two internships on my CV and I think it stands out when applying for jobs. People are intrigued to see the diversity in experience and it’s an edge that not all teachers have the opportunity to achieve.

At Accenture our STEM intern helped us develop initiatives to improve a programme for one of our clients. This role included brainstorming of ideas, understanding of the mindsets involved, development of initiatives, and user testing, bringing the project from concept to pilot.
