Niamh Finnegan
H I’m Niamh and I am from Roscommon. I recently completed my Bachelor of Science with concurrent Teacher Education at the University of Limerick. My specialisms are Biology and Chemistry.
I wanted to gain new skills and to become experienced in something I had never had the opportunity to try before, specifically in technology or coding.
I was a part of the Workplace Investment team, and over the course of my internship I met daily with the other team members to discuss our project goals and plan for sprints. I was trained in CoderDojo and developed a booklet for teachers on Scratch. I will be able to use what I learned with my own students, and Scratch is a great stepping stone towards more advanced programming languages such as Python.
