Karen Marry
Hi, I’m Karen and I’m from Navan, in County Meath. I am currently studying a part-time Master’s Degree in Digital Learning from DCU’s Institute of Education. I am also currently working as a primary school teacher. I graduated with a Professional Masters of Education (Primary) degree in 2020 with a specialism in mathematics.
I completed the STint programme in 2019 in Intel Ireland. I wanted to see if participating in this internship as an alumni would have an impact on my teaching as a current educator opposed to a teacher in training.
During my two-month internship, I worked in the education department at IBM. My role was to localise post-primary curriculum objectives to the Irish primary school curriculum. I am currently working on creating both lessons and resources which help children who are learning how to use drones through coding and computational thinking using IBM’s skillsbuild platform and curriculum.
