Joseph Duffy
Hi, my name is Joseph Duffy. I’m from Monaghan and I am in my final year of my Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and Biology at Dublin City University. I have a keen interest in both Sports and Science. I hope to gain some fantastic new opportunities from the STint programme and be immersed in working environments that I’ve never experienced before.
I applied to the STEM Teacher Internship programme because I think it presents an amazing opportunity for student teachers to experience different work environments. The programme allows student teachers to get an experience outside of the classroom that otherwise wouldn’t be possible.
I completed an internship last year and found the entire experience both beneficial and extremely enjoyable. I had a fantastic experience with SSE Airtricity where I learned new skills in a welcoming environment. I hope this year will provide me with new insights into the working world where I can improve many skills which can then transfer to my classroom.
