Tell us about yourself

My name is Jonathan ALFF, I’m a Professional Master of Education student from the University of Galway. After completing my Bachelor’s degree in Energy Systems Engineering, I decided to become a Mathematics and Physics teacher. I spend my spare time practicing languages and cycling as I wish to travel plenty. My aims in joining this program are to get an experience that I can draw from for my in-class examples and in order to best assist my students.

I applied to the STInt Programme because...

During my undergraduate degree, I had the opportunity to pursue a placement in industry. Unfortunately, the pandemic cut the placement short. I believe that I would be best positioned to help students interested in STEM professions if my experience of industry was more reflective of its reality. Due to the limited amount of time, I was only able to begin projects. I would very much appreciate the opportunity to see at least one project through the entire process if possible.
