Tell Us About Yourself
My name is Iain Patterson and I am currently in my final year of the Professional Masters of Education in UCD. I am doing my teaching practice in Wesley College Dublin, I also coach hockey in the school. I play hockey for YMCA Dublin and lead the youth group in my church. I have always had a keen interest in mathematics, physics and working to help people, which guided my choice of Biomedical Engineering and now secondary school teaching. I look forward to taking part in the STInt programme so I can gain experiences in a STEM company, so that I can inform my students of what it is like to work in these companies to help them make their choices for future careers. I hope to increase my pedagogical content knowledge and discover new ways to teach my students. It would be great to make connections in industry so I could organise talks for my students in the future.
