Ellen Kearney
Hi, I am Ellen! I am in my final year of the BSc Science Education program at University College Cork. My specialisms are Biology and Science. I have a great interest in the area of science as well as IT. I believe the STInt program will develop my interest and skills in these areas and allow me to further develop my creativity in these areas to apply to my teaching style.
From my experience in teaching, I am seeing the demand for IT in lessons. When teaching Junior Cert Physics I found students really benefitted from using devices such as data loggers and simulations. I would like to further develop my skills in the area of technology which I believe the STInt programme offers. From my work experience in San Diego as well as activity planning in all lessons, I have immersed myself in creative outlets and ideas to make teaching more enjoyable for both the educator and the learner. I believe the STInt programme would offer creative ideas that I could apply to my teaching.
