Cormac Marnane
Hi, I’m Cormac! I recently completed my Bachelor of Education in Primary Teacher Education in Dublin City University. My specialism subject is Mathematics.
I have a love for learning and problem-solving. I enjoy a challenge whilst seeking constant self-improvement. Part of the reason I chose teaching is that it enables me to research a new topic, for my own benefit as well as the children’s. Mathematics was my favourite subject in school and when I began to work on a problem, I could not stop until it was solved. This STInt internship offers an exciting opportunity for learning through problem-solving.
I completed various tasks at Citi. One that stood out for me was a swift run review. The swift run involved sending swifts that were coming into Citi to the appropriate team. This was helpful at the beginning of my placement as it helped me to better understand how the company worked as a system and was a good starting point to learn about the different teams at Citi and what they do. (Swift is a secure messaging system for large transactions between banks and clients). I enjoyed my time at Citi. I learned a lot and I feel that I can bring my experience back to the classroom.
