I would definitely recommend the programme. It improves your life experiences and helps give an understanding of the industry that you are encouraging your students to consider joining. The learning that takes place both upfront (coding, excel) and without noticing (collaboration, importance of creativity) is huge – while getting paid and working regular hours at the same time.
Interns at Intel were working on making coding approachable for kids. They learned to code in several languages and apply these 21st century learning skills to their “MoviKids” Project. The MoviKids project is essentially a platform of communication with co-workers which aims to engage employees’ children in STEAM fun and learning activities. This is in direct response to the current macro environment with many employees being required to directly care for their children while simultaneously working from home.
